Google+ Cave Food Kitchen: Rutabaga Fries

Rutabaga Fries

Rutabaga is a type of root vegetable, and is actually quite the versatile. You can eat the leaves as a salad, and the root can be roasted, cooked, steamed or even eaten raw.
In this case, we make fries out of them.

All you need is a rutabaga, some coconut oil, salt & pepper.
Slice the rutabaga in 1 cm thick slices, cut off the skin and then cut into fries.

Heat the oven to 180C (350F) and melt some coconut oil. Cover the fries in the oil, then lay them out on a sheet of baking paper of in a baking dish. Bake for about 25-30 mins until crispy.
